Canaan Fall Festival

We had our town festival this weekend. Megan wanted to get on this thing. She paid her $5 and waited for her turn. Which was like watching paint dry. When it was finally her turn she started to get up there and decided that she didn't want to do it. I told her to go ahead and she had a blast. She wanted to do it again. This clip was taken with Greg's phone so I'm sure it's not the best. Seth couldn't do it because he had an injured arm. He helped daddy eat a snow cone while we waited on Meg. We had a great time. The kids enjoyed the parade and all of the candy that was tossed to them. By the way, Seth's arm is healing so fast. Now we are to the point where it is feeling good so he doesn't want to wear the splint. Good sign. I'm so thankful to God that he didn't get hurt worse then what it was.

Good News

We took Seth in to the Orthopedic Dr. today and received good news. He didn't have a cast! He has a splint and wrap. I can take it off to give him a bath and also for him to sleep. I am so glad because he has been really restless at night. He just can't get comfortable. Baths have been a pain. We will most likely be able to take it off in less then two weeks! I can't wait!

What a differance a day makes

That is the case around here. I took this pic of Megan and Seth going to Grandma's. I am standing on the porch and if you look close you can see someone on the porch at Grandma's house. By the way, they were having a yard sale that day if your wondering what all of the stuff's about. Also, zoom in and see that they are holding hands!
Here they are playing on the slide. Megan would wait for Seth to get on the slide then she would go head first right behind him. I love to see them playing together. OK read on...... Just to let you know that we are not in a perfect world.... We were picking up the kids from my parents. While we were talking to mom and dad Megan and Seth got in my dad's truck and was acting like they were going somewhere. Well, Meg got out and then she opened the door to let Seth out and he fell out head first! We noticed that he wasn't moving his arm right so we took him to ER for an x-ray. As you can see from the pic. It was broke. Not real bad. Too much for me. The Dr. called it a buckle. Anyhow, he has an appointment tomorrow to get the real cast put on. I'm thankful that it wasn't worse then what it was. He could have really hurt his head. I hate to see the little guy in pain. He doesn't like that thing being on at all but I can tell that it really helped with the pain. Keep us all in your prayers.

On the Road Again

We went out this past weekend to our Robbins Family Reunion. We had a really nice time. My cousins for the past two years have invited everyone to come and "camp" at their house. We have taken them up on it both years and have really had a great time. Friday night we ordered pizza. (The official camping out food.) Then a few people gathered around with musical instruments and had a sing. My kids got a little over it so Barb offered to let us go in the in ground pool! Wow! It was soooo nice. We had a nice time at the reunion the next day. Meg's team won the horse race. (Riding on small brooms.) Seth got to pull out a winning duck out of the pond. (They were all winners.) It wasn't all that fun. Friday evening I heard water running in the bathroom in the camper. I went in to check it out. Our tank was full and our toilet was backed up and running out on the floor! What a mess! We shut off the water and started cleaning up the mess. Greg couldn't figure out how the tank was full. He found out after we got home that the toilet had gotten stuck on and the water just continued to drain in the tank. Crazy. I hope that never happens again.

Was that 5lb or 25lb?

I have a deep cleaning schedule made up to cover each room in the house over the next month or so. I take a room on Friday and one on Saturday and give it a good cleaning. Friday was the Master Bath. It really looks great! Today I was working on the Master Bedroom. I was cleaning out the night stand when I heard the kitchen drawer open. I asked Megan what she was doing. She said that she didn't want to tell me. I got worried that she might have a knife even though most of my sharp knives I have up high. So I went in to investigate. That is when I found her and Seth with flour all over! I couldn't believe it! Will this ever be a normal dwelling again? Are my kids way out there? Please tell me that I'm not the only one who has this kind of stuff happen. I didn't realize how much 5lbs was. Bonnie and Clyde.

Ocean Potion

We went out on the jet ski and boat yesterday. We had a blast again. The water was really rough though. I was on the ski for a long time until my legs got sore from being in the same position for so long. I also had Seth riding with me so I was more tense with the way the water was. I was afraid to go too fast in fear that he would fall off. After I got off Greg got on. He was riding a little ways behind the boat and I wasn't paying any attention to him. I finally got up and turned to look at him and he wasn't there. We went back to look for him and found that he was kind of cruising along because Seth had fallen asleep and was laying on his left arm and Greg was trying to drive with his right. We took Seth and were on our way again. I had put sunscreen on both of the kids but not on me. I am Fried! I am using Ocean Potion. It feels cool when I put it on. I have a white band on my arm from where I was wearing the safety bracelet on the jet ski. I woke up sick this morning probably from sun poison. Oh well, live and learn.

From Philly to TN

Ok, so you thought that I had left the Blog world. Well, I was beginning to wonder myself. We left for Philly to see Greg's family a week ago this past Friday. We left around 9:00pm and got there the next morning around 7:30. It usually takes us 10 hours but the kids woke up about 5:30 in the morning so we had to let them get out and stretch. We had a great time. Gram seemed to be doing good as well as everyone else. We spent a lot of time in the pool. The kids were a little apprehensive at first but as you will be able to see by the pics they both got use to it. I have a pic of Seth jumping in but both kids were doing it. I have so many pics I will never get them all posted. You may need some Tums to look at these pics with all of the good Philly food that we ate. Cheese steaks, soft pretzels, hot dogs from the vendors, scrapple, tomato pie, Reta's water ice,(ice cream) Hoagies, Cheese steaks, scrapple, Cheese teaks, and scrapple. We went to Church on Sunday morning and then we had a cookout with Grandbear's family. It was so nice to see everyone. Here Seth is jumping in to Greg.
Megan taking it easy.
Megan with Colleen. Colleen is Greg's first cousin. Megan just loves her.
Seth eating Tomato pie. He loves it. For the ones who don't know it is pizza crust with a pizza sauce and Parmesan cheese on top and served cold. I love it and so does Seth. Thank you Aunt Mary Jo for bring our favorite.
Seth and Uncle Kevin Chillin out.
Seth had his hair done like Uncle Kevin. Everyone loves Uncle Kevin.
I forgot to tell you that we went and rode the Ducks in Philly. It is an amphibious bus that takes you around a lot of the sight of Philly and then takes you on the Delaware river. We all had these quacker's and yes everyone used them. We had a blast. Megan helping Christina learn to walk. Meg is such a good big cousin.
The Greg O'Donnell family in the pool. The hungry hippo that Megan is riding is the one that she was jumping in with and no one was catching her!
Megan and Grandmom. Megan, Seth, and Abby all had floating bathing suits that Grandbear and Grandmom bought for them. It was cool because they were for girl or boy so Seth was dressed like the rest of them. I think he thought he was big stuff.

Greg and Seth on the Ducks in Philly.
Meg on the Ducks in Philly.
Grandmom and Grandbear on the Ducks.
Seth joining in on the Y M C A song. Some of the people on the bus were doing the motions to the song while it was playing and Seth was getting into it.
We left Philly and went to TN for a few days. The kids went to Dollywood again. We always have a good time there. I didn't take pics because we were just there a couple of months ago and the rides look the same. The kids did get to ride a real train there. We have never rode the train at Dollywood so that was cool. Since the kids like Thomas it was nice to ride a real train. Anyway, we are home and we have to go back to work. Fun!

Crack Me Up

The other day Seth was singing the B I B L E song. He was kind of saying something for a while and you couldn't tell what he was saying and then he would say, "Bible." He loves music and singing. Today Mom was getting after Megan for something and I think she told her to sit down and Megan said, "Would you just be patient with me?" I am trying to be patient right now while kids are climbing over me and trying to put a blanket over my head! What a blast. Oh, I guess I should tell you that Seth can drink by himself now from a cup without a lid! He started doing it last night. He is holding the cup and everything. I got a pic but I haven't downloaded it yet.

More This and That

I can't believe that I forgot to put Trenton's pic on here! He had a blast driving the jet ski. This is Rodney's oldest boy.
We promised Meg before camp that if she would let us get rid of the cats that have shown up around our house that we would get her a little pool after we got home. Here it is. Seth just wants to play on the outside. I have tried to get him to get in but he isn't real sure about it. I hope to get to go swimming in Grandbear's pool when we go to Philly. I hope Seth will like it when I get in with him.
Here are the kids eating breakfast after they got the pool. They were anxious to get outside so this was the only way that I could get them to be interested at all in eating. (I don't know where they get that from.)
Megan playing with her new neighbor friends. We are so happy to have them for neighbors. All four of the kids are so good. the other two are older. Even the 15 year old will get down on the floor and play with the kids.

Brookville Lake

Last weekend Trenton and Benjamin were at mom's house for a few days. Last summer when they came over Greg and I took them camping. We all had a good time so we said that we wanted to take them again this year. Well, we weren't able to take them out very long. We just went out for one night but we did have a nice time. Rodney and Melinda met us there and stayed with us. We are wanting to do it again before the boys have to go back to school. I hope we can squeeze it in. Here are a few pics that were taken.
This is the long train that we had going to Brookville. Greg did a great job pulling it all.
This is Megan directing her daddy while he parks the camper after we got home. He told her where to stand and told her the hand signals. She did a good job.
Here she is telling him to come on back.
Here is her stop hand signal.

This is the cubby in the front of the boat. It is actually a bed but it doesn't get used very much. As you can see that is where life vest get stored. Seth hadn't had a nap all day and it was about 6:00pm. He crashed. It is a nice place to get them out of the sun. There is also a place where you can open the door to let air blow through.
Greg and Seth on the wave runner.
Rodney is the first one to dump the jet ski. Here he is getting back on. Yes, Benjamin still wants to ride even though his daddy dumped him.
Rodney and his boys swimming around the boat.
Dad on Jet ski.

Rodney and Benjamin. On the jet ski.
Trenton, Meg, and I Swimming around the boat. Megan didn't care for that too much. She ended up getting back in the boat.
Greg and Seth on Jet ski.
Meg and I.
This didn't last long because we didn't have enough room for every one's hands.

New Neighbors

The house that my brother had built next door to us was up for sale. I had some concerns of who our new neighbors would be. I was praying that someone would move in with good kids who would play with our kids. The house sold and we gathered that it was a single dad with four kids but he only had that kids every other weekend. The good news is that he and his wife are getting back together this summer and are going to get married again! I am not very good about going over and introducing myself to someone and just start talking. Well, Greg has talked to the man several times out in the yard but I have never had the courage to do anything other then wave. (what a dork) The other night Greg was over talking to them and the woman was there with the kids. They asked him if we wanted to come over for birthday cake. The oldest girl was turning 15. We went over and had the nicest time. Of course we had no card but what 15 year old doesn't like money. The whole family was super nice! Megan and Seth had a blast and really didn't want to go home. They have a boy 4, girl 6(she and Meg hit it off very well), girl 12, and then the oldest birthday girl 15. We are wanting to take the kids to VBS. The mom acted like it would be great. This is an answer to prayer.

Alexx

Alexx is a boy from the community that came to our church camp. He is a really neat kid. He turned 15 while we were there and no one in his family even told him Happy Birthday. I went to town and got him a present from Greg and I. Mom also had me pick up something from her. Our selection of stores isn't much around the camp so I headed to good old Walmart. He was wanting some long sleeve shirts so I got him a couple with matching ties. He was really happy with them. He has called us 3 or 4 times today. He loves the Lord and is trying to serve him. Please keep Alexx in your prayers. He is also known as Double X because of the way that his name is spelled. He was looking forward to going to youth camp this week but he called us this evening to tell us that his dad wasn't going to let him go. He was really bummed out about it. I felt so sorry for him. He really needs your prayers.
