4 More Days Till Christmas

Am I the only one finding time to blog this time of year? Actually, I know that I'm not the only one because I have noticed other blogging friends posting less. Well, it's 6 a.m. on Sunday morning and I can't sleep. I remembered that the turtle neck that I want Megan to wear this morning is dirty and it's Christmas Sunday! Got that taken care of and decided to catch up on the blog. We did get the 12ft tree up and decorated. I went with red and gold. This is the first time that I have ever had a tree with a theam. My other tree is just traditional. But I really like it. Teresa, (sister-in-law) who is very good at decorating, came over and helped get it decorated. I was very pleased with the finished product. She said that I did a good job of picking out decorations. I was pleased with the 70% off! She said that we need to hit Old Time Pottery right after Christmas to get more for next year. Anyway here is a pic that we took of the kids. I just love it!

Megan and Seth in front of the new Christmas tree. Note the new outfits that Grandmom and Grandbear O'Donnell sent. Thank you. They fit and look great.

Meg trying out the Longaberger.

Actually, Seth did it first. Meg thought it was cute so she wanted her pic in it too. Looks like kids live here.

Our tree. Actually, we have added more since this pic. Aunt Teresa says we need more.

We took a trip to TN at the beginning of the week. Since we had passes to Dollywood we wanted to take the kids again to enjoy the Christmas festivities. We had a great time. Now that Meg is 4 we had to get a pass for her too. Seth is still free. We only stayed two nights. We rented a cabin. Megan loves the hot tubs. Seth was a little nervous at first but got use to it. We were in it both nights and it felt wonderful. I would love to have one. It's on the list.......way down:( Diapers is more toward the top:) This is a pic of the kids in the cabin.
The kids with their new sleeping bags. Both kids really like them but Meg is especially into it right now.
Greg is really good at baking cookies. (Much better then me.) Here he is at work.
This was the last few that he put in and got busy with something else. I didn't tease him too much.............
Greg was excited to finally get a Kitchen Aid mixer. He had some gift cards that he had been saving for one. He was able to get the biggest one. He kept burning up my hand held ones when he would make a double batch of cookies. He has been wanting one for a long time. Looks like a kid with a new toy.

12 ft Tree

I fogot to say that I got a 12 ft tree for my entry way. I had been saving my gift cards that I had rec'd for one. It had to be a slim line. Well I found one at Walmart - which is where I had the gift card for - but they were out of them and wouldn't sell the display to me. Greg went back the other day to see if they had got any more in. We this time they sold the display to him. Now I'm looking to decorate it. At least now stores are starting to clearence out Christmas stuff. Depending on the final look I may post a pic.

Christmas Buzz / Blog Blues

It been a while I know. Things are getting a little busy. Kids are doing fine and I think they are feeling the Christmas Buzz. We are almost finished shopping so maybe things will slow down now. I am excited about the day that we have planned for today. I am going shopping with My sister-in-law, her daughter, my mom, and Megan. (Maybe Seth too.) We are going over to Cincinnati early to shop then we are going to meet up with the guys this eve to attend The Christmas play at GBS. (A Bible Collage.)I use to go to them every year but the past few years I haven't went because I wasn't sure if the kids would enjoy it. I am quite sure that Meg will. I think the play will be interresting to her but she will love the orchestra! She told me the other day that she was going to grow up with a trumpet. (I think she wants to play one when she grows up.)
Speaking of Meg, the other morning we had some fresh donuts from the bakery. She was sitting at the dinning room table and Greg was in the kitchen. She and Greg started winkning back and forth at each other. I said, "She loves her family." and Megan replied with, "And her families' donuts!"
Seth has started saying a lot more. I just love this little guy. He is full of hugs and kisses. When he comes to give me kisses he almost always makes sure that he plants one on each side of my face.
Family - That's what Christmas is all about.

Kids Pics

Just so you know, the photo session this last time was CRAZY. Seth didn't want to get his pic taken. (You will find that out.) Oh well. Thanks to computer tech we can do a lot with the 2 shots that we got of Seth. Like make it look like the kids got their pics taken together when the truth is that Seth didn't want Meg around him. If I didn't think of the little car that they had there we wouldn't have had one pic of Seth. So, all the moms out there can look at this and laugh and be thankful that it wasn't you. Did you know that when you argue with a two year old about getting pics taken you never win?

The Tree is Up

Yes, our tree is up! This was a pic taken last year at Christmas. I put it up the day after Halloween. We don't have the lights up outside or up the banister. We are wanting to get a 12ft tree for the entry way. We decided to see if we could get on on sale. We say that every year. They're too expensive! I love Christmas.

Trick or Treat

I took the kids out last night. We go to a few people that we know. The kids had a good time. We ended at McDonalds! Seth liked the banana in his pocket. We met up with another monkey and princess. None as cute or beautiful as ours. I'm not partial.
I couldn't help but post last years Halloween. One of my favorite pics. Both of them have matured in the face some.

Conversation with a 4 year old

Last night I had a conversation with Megan. Check this out.......

Megan: "I like your skirt." (I had on a new outfit.)
Mommy: "Thank you."
Megan: "Where did you get it?"
Mommy: "Cato."
Megan: "Peebles doesn't have anything like that."
Mommy: "Your right about that. Would you like a skirt like this?"
Megan: "I saw one on eVay but I don't know if I'm going to get it or not." (That would be eBay.)

Our 4 year old is like talking to an adult sometimes. I love my kids! Seth has been throwing his arms wide open lately to let you know that he wants a big hug. How cute is that?!

McCain Palin

Too good to pass up. The O'Donnell's are on the campaign trail.

Megan has hooked up to the jet ski. Greg had to remind her about the last time that she hooked up to something in the garage that she ended up going to the hospital and getting 12 stitches. Oh, that was explained after I took the pic.

Little Feet

I went shopping to look for some casual shoes for Seth. When we walked into the shop the lady asked me if I needed the kids' feet measured. Megan is doing good on shoes right now but I decided to go ahead and get Meg's feet measured too in case I found something on sale. She measured Seth at 8 1/2 and Megan at 9! I found this interesting since there is about 2 years between them. It is hard to see from the pics but the lady mentioned that Seth has wider feet. We actually have a hard time finding shoes to fit him because they are so thick. I didn't have any luck either. The lady also told me that they are cutting back on their inventory. I noticed it in other shops too. Anyone have suggestions where I can find casual boy shoes?
Here is a pic with Seth on the left and Megan on the right. Cute!

Go Phillies!

When we went back to Philly this summer we picked up these shirts for the kids. Greg is very excited that the Phillies are doing so well. I'm a Reds girl but I'm happy to know that the Phillies are doing well. The kids are saying cheese but we could say that they are saying Phillies!
Seth hanging out. I forgot to post this. This happened a week or so ago. Megan decided to help mommy out. It was great! She started loading up the dishwasher for me. Greg was monitoring her. I felt like I needed to pinch myself to see if this was really happening to me. Here I was folding laundry and getting my dishes done at the same time. She has really started helping out a lot. She loves to help cook.

Greg and I were sitting on the couch when Seth came bringing in the huge 32oz Poweraide bottle. It looked really big next to our little guy. It was some time later when I walked into the utility room on found the refrigerator door hanging open. This is the refrigerator that we put our drinks in. Imagine that!
The kids were invited to a Halloween party. The woman who organizes it is someone that we work with. She does this to encourage kids to go here instead of going trick-or-treating. It was really geared toward young kids. Our kids had a good time. They played games, won prizes, went trick-or-treating through a village, and ate popcorn. When we got ready to leave to go there Megan wanted a drink so I went back in the house and got the kids a drink and got a Diet Code Red for me and a Code Red for Greg. (Code Red is a Mountain Dew for those areas that might not have it.) Well everyone drank all of their drinks except me. When we left the party we had picked up popcorn on our way out the door. Well, you guessed it, the kids got thirsty. We were in the country so there was no place to get drinks so I gave Seth some of my CODE RED! Greg reminded me that Megan had won a drink in her ring toss. I got her drink out of the bag only to find that it was, "Mountain Lightening." (A type of Mountain Dew.) I didn't give her the whole can but they both were wired for a while. Crazy!
Megan was a princess. You can't tell, but Seth is a monkey. The face of the monkey is sort of far back on his head. They both were very cute.
The kids will probably still go trick-or-treating but we only go to a few house of people that we know so this was something extra for them.

Busy

Wow, what a week. We were in revival all this week so things got a little busy. After working all day, coming home, eating, ironing clothes and getting everyone ready for church we didn't have time to do too much.
The election has been a hot item around our house. I thought it was really funny when about two days after we put up our McCain - Palin sign in our yard our neighbor put up his Democrat signs! I didn't realize how much our Megan was listening until mom told me that while they were driving by our neighbors house that Megan said, "He's got an Obauma sign!" She was also talking about Sara Palin but I didn't catch what she said.
Another Meg story: Last night she wanted to go forward at church during the invitation. It was the first time for her. I was very proud of her. Greg said that Seth wanted to go up too but he wanted to take an arm load of cars and trains with him. Greg made him wait until everyone was invited to gather around and then he brought Seth up too. (With his trains.) I hope their hearts stay tender.
Hopefully everything slows down this week. The kids are looking forward to Halloween. Megan is going to be a princess. I had pick up a tiger outfit for Seth but I chose a size too small so I am going to have to take it back. I'm not sure what he is going to be now. We are going to have to think fast because we have a kids party that the kids have been invited to this weekend. Small stuff. I'm not really worried about it.

Happy Birthday Megan & Seth

Today we had the birthday party for Megan and Seth. Grandbear is here from Philly, Uncle John, Aunt Michele, Abby, and Christina are here from VA. Our friends, Mike and Nancy Lewis were here from Cincinnati. Paul III, Angela, Emma, and Shalynne were here too. (Paul 4th is still in the oven. I think it's almost time.) Grandma and Grandpa were here too and also Aunt Dorine. (Uncle Paul had to work.) Trenton had a band competition today so they were not able to come. I hope to get to go to one of Trenton's competition. Anyway, back to the birthday party. It seemed like everyone had a good time. These pics are not all in order but here we go.
Here is Seth opening one of his gifts.
Megan with a baby. A big hit for her.
Seth with the Harley Davidson tricycle that Greg and I got for him.
Megan at the art desk that we got for her. She really liked it.
Megan has been wanting a princes outfit for a long time.
Megan's theme was Princess. Each little princess got their own little princess cake.

Seth's theme was of course cars. After I finished this and showed it to Seth he made a car noise. These cakes took me 6 1/2 hours to decorate. That is not including baking time. So you are thinking that I'm crazy and I'm thinking your right. I don't think I was making minimum wage.
The kids with the pull string pinata. The kids loved it.
The kids took a ride in my dad's corvair that he is restoring. What a blast.

Sunday, Sept. 28th is our Megan's 4th birthday. Megan you have been such a joy to our life. I'm so glad that God gave you to us. We want you to grow up and have the love of Jesus in your heart. I remember when you were first born. Mommy and daddy were so happy to have you as part of the family. You are still our little princess and a good big sister to Seth. He loves you so much. Hope you have a great day. We love you, Daddy, Mommy, and Seth.
Here are some pics of Megan. Again, I just had to quit downloading. Too many pics.

Happy Birthday Seth

Seth is 2 today!! He just keeps getting more handsome all of the time. I am so happy that God gave us two great kids. Both are very special to me but today is the day that I'm going to talk about Seth and then on the 28th of this month you will hear about Meg.
This little guy is so sweet. He is one of the most loving kids that I have ever seen. I can't tell you how many kisses that I get each day from him and I love every one of them. He will kiss me on the cheek and then turn my face so that he can kiss the other one. He has been such a joy to have in our little family. When I just had one child I was worried that I wouldn't love another one as much as I loved the first. Boy was I wrong. He just walked into our lives and took over. I love both kids the same. I wouldn't want to be without either one of them. We are going to have cake and ice cream tonight with my parents and then we are planning a big party for both of the kids when Greg's Dad flys in. John T and his family are planning to come in from VA for the occasion also. I will have some of my family here too. I thought I would post some pics of Seth. I finally just had to quit. We have so many cute pics of this little guy! Happy Birthday Seth! We love you sooooo much!!!!
